Get Ready to Succeed >> Be wary of taking non-credit remedial courses at a college

These are courses for which you pay college tuition without receiving college credit. If you take a placement test and your scores indicate you are NOT ready to take the freshman math or English course, sign up for a for-credit preparation course if they are offered. Or go to your local Adult Education program where you can take non-credit courses for little or no money.
