Author Notes
I think that my audience is generally for High school students, but also can be for eighth graders going into high school that doesn’t know what to expect.  I think the purpose of my essay was to explain my experiences of my high school career and let the reader know that change is a big part in our lives. The message I think my paper is trying to get across is that as we get older not only do we change but also the things we do and the people we are around. I think the parts in my essay that helped explain my experiences were the anecdotes I used to show change over experience.

Questions:
- Are all the tenses of the words correct?
- If there is any confusion please clarify?
- Which places I could make stronger?
- If there anything you would like me to expand on?

The Beginning of High School
It was the night before the first day of school; my two middle school friends and I were having a sleepover. We arranged our brand new clothes and were excited to get tomorrow started. We stayed up pretty late talking about different things we had seen in movies that portrayed what a students life was like in high school. We were excited for the partying, a whole new set of girls, and varsity sports. At this point we didn’t realize how much we would change. I came to the realization that people adapt, transition, and mature from year to year without realizing it. From my K-8 school and to even now college, I have found new interests, hobbies, and have even made new friends. Change is something I got used to and is what we encounter everyday in our lives. At 7:30 AM and the bells rang, I was officially lost and late to school. I couldn't be anymore nervous; I knew maybe five percent of the school and had no idea where to go. I walked up with buddies, shook hands, and split our different ways. I thought to myself, “This is definitely going to be different than anything I have ever done”. I had to transition from a 500 student K-8 school to a 2,500-student high school. Coming into high school as a freshman, I was pretty excited. I was a skater punk kid that thought nothing was going to change; I would always skate, hangout with my middle school friends, and get good grades. Wrong! Everything changed: my appearance, friends, hobbies, and my grades. Adjusting to having six different teachers, and a class full of unfamiliar faces was a bit tough at first, because I had 3 teachers for the entire 8th grade. I attended school called San Pasqual Union, a small green school in the valley with a gymnasium disguised as a barn. The majority of the students that attended \ all lived in one gated neighborhood across the street. As my first at high school week went on I started to meet people and make new friends. I realized that some of these kids are much cooler than some of my other friends. They had similar interests and goals as me, and enjoyed being active and wanted to be successful in life.  From that point on, I began to mix it up and sit with different people at lunch. I made friends with Chris, Will, and Justin, and we hung out both inside as well as outside of school. I ended up losing my relationship with my two middle school buddies because they choose the path of drugs. I realized the thought of the next three years and was excited for the relationship we had created to grow.

Sophomore year came, and we were no longer fresh meat. This meant no longer taking crap from all the other students, but giving it instead. We no longer were the ones to be harassed at all the prep rallies. School a challenge now as, I was taking my first AP class, and two honors classes. More time was spent on actually studying than hanging out with my freshman year friends. Although the workload during the week increased, so did the partying on the weekends. High school became...
